Pneumatic motors have the following advantages

1. Stepless speed change and variable torque are realized through pressure or flow regulation, and expensive controllers are not required.

2. It can start, stop and turn frequently and quickly.

3. Even in the case of overload and locked rotor, it will not become filtered or burned out.

4. It can operate safely under dangerous conditions without electric spark or hydraulic oil leakage. It is an explosion-proof equipment.

5. Cold operation characteristics reduce the impact of high temperature, humid or dusty environment to a low degree.

6. Simple design, firm structure and low maintenance rate.

7. Compact shape, light weight and large power output.

Selection and characteristics of pneumatic motor

Air pressure:

When pneumatic motor is selected, please note that the technical specification list only indicates the output parameters of the motor when the standard working pressure is 0.62mpa. The output capacity of the pneumatic motor is closely related to the air pressure provided at the work site.

By adjusting the pressure, air supply and exhaust, the same motor can achieve different output speed, torque and power within a certain range. When the air supply pressure of the motor is lower than 0.25MPa, its performance may not be stable.

Usually, the specification of the pneumatic motor is selected based on 70% of the technical parameters. This allows additional power for start-up and possible overload.

High power: Generally speaking, the pneumatic motor outputs high power when the speed is about 50% of the no-load speed.

Working speed: when selecting pneumatic motor, the working speed should be considered first rather than idle speed.

Note: the pneumatic motor should not run without load for a long time. The performance curve in this catalogue only refers to the high speed that the motor can achieve in theory. Generally, it is not recommended to operate under this condition.

Working torque: the same important technical parameter as the operating speed of pneumatic motor is working torque. The two factors of speed and torque jointly determine the required motor power. When selecting pneumatic motor, we must pay attention to the difference between locked rotor torque and working torque.

Speed and torque: the starting torque is about 75% of the locked rotor torque. The operating torque or rated speed torque at any speed can be close to the motor performance curve - or calculated by the following formula: torque (nm) = power (kw) * 9550 / speed (RPM).

Air system, air supply and flow: once a pneumatic motor is selected, it is very important to ensure that the required air pressure can be provided to the motor when the motor is running. Due to the possible pipe loss in the air system, the pressure reading on the compressor does not mean that the running pneumatic motor will reach the same pressure. Exhaust throttling may also affect the operation of the pneumatic motor, which is often the cause of failure.

Air inlet control: when installing a reversible pneumatic motor, a quick exhaust valve should be used to prevent poor secondary exhaust.

Replace motor with pneumatic motor: except DC series wound motor, the performance curve of motor is completely different from that of pneumatic motor. Therefore, their torque and speed curves cannot match.

Operating instructions

1. When operating or demonstrating the motor, please use personal protective equipment, including room dust mask or other respirators, protective glasses, hearing protectors, anti-skid gloves, labor protection shoes, safety helmet and other equipment.

2. Ask other personnel to keep a safe distance from the work area or ensure that they use personal protective equipment.

3. The pneumatic motor is not connected to the current.

4. Those wearing loose, long hair and gloves should stay away from the motor.

5. Do not use damaged or faulty motors or accessories.

6. Do not use the motor for purposes other than those permitted.

Lubrication: the motor blades are made of special materials and do not need lubrication, which makes the motor perform better in the environment where oil is not allowed in food processing and clean workshops. In other working environments, in order to achieve excellent performance and service life of pneumatic reduction motor, we recommend using pneumatic triplet (filter - regulator - oil mist).

Pneumatic configuration description

1. The diameter of the small joint in the whole air circuit shall not be less than the diameter of the motor air inlet. If the total length of the pipeline exceeds 5m, the diameter of the small joint in the whole air circuit shall not be less than twice the diameter of the motor air inlet.

2. Connect the two air inlet pipes to the two air inlets of the motor respectively, and use the two position five-way valve (or other control valve) to control the switches of the two air inlet pipes respectively, so as to realize the forward and reverse rotation of the motor.

3. By selecting the control system of our company's clutch braking pneumatic motor, the orderly actions of pneumatic motor start, forward and reverse rotation, clutch and braking can be realized, and can be associated with the customer's field application system.
